The initial analysis allows Helen to take a closer look at areas such as visible build-up, oil levels and the general condition of the scalp before beginning the treatment. A second analysis at the end gives you an opportunity to compare what can be seen before and after your appointment.
This is a visual scalp-care assessment rather than a medical diagnosis, but it allows the treatment to feel far more considered and personal than simply washing and conditioning the hair.

The term Japanese Head Spa generally describes a scalp-first treatment influenced by Japanese approaches to cleansing, massage, relaxation and ritualised hair care.
There is no single treatment sequence used by every Head Spa, which means the experience can differ significantly from one provider to another.
At Aluna, our approach is Japanese-inspired rather than an attempt to reproduce one rigid treatment formula. The experience combines professional scalp care with warm-water cleansing, massage, carefully selected products and an environment designed to encourage complete relaxation.
One of the biggest differences is the amount of time and attention given to the scalp.
Rather than shampooing being a quick stage of another service, cleansing, exfoliation and scalp massage become important parts of the appointment themselves.
Your hair is cleansed during the treatment, so there is no need to wash it immediately beforehand. Conditioning and hydration are also incorporated according to the treatment you choose.
And you will not need to leave Aluna with soaking wet hair. Every core Head Spa treatment finishes with a light blow-dry.
The experience also becomes progressively more indulgent as you move through Aluna's treatment durations.
The 90-minute treatments include the complete 60-minute core experience together with an enriching hot drink, Gold-tier product range, extended scalp massage, a sound-bath introduction and face mask.
The 120-minute treatments include the complete core experience together with an enriching hot drink, Diamond-tier product range, scalp and upper-body massage, a full sound-bath experience and organic facial.
This means your appointment can be anything from a complete one-hour Head Spa treatment to a two-hour scalp, hair and relaxation ritual.
How long does a Head Spa take — and how much does it cost?
At Aluna Head Spa, every treatment pathway is available as a 60, 90 or 120-minute experience.
The Ritual Head Spa currently costs £75 for 60 minutes, £95 for 90 minutes and £120 for 120 minutes.
The Balancing, Hair Growth and Bond Repair Head Spa treatments currently cost £80 for 60 minutes, £100 for 90 minutes and £125 for 120 minutes.
